Author of the Goldstone Report Judge Richard Goldstone has changed his mind. In an op-ed published Friday evening in the Washington Post, Goldstone takes an apologist standpoint and openly scrutinizes and undermines the objectivity and structure of his very own investigation — an investigation hailed by many as the first serious international attempt in recent times to expose the Israeli army’s indiscriminate actions toward the Palestinian people. To see Goldstone virtually retract his findings leads me to suspicion and obvious disappointment, but even a widely circulated Washington Post article can’t cover up the fact that war crimes did in fact occur during Operation Cast Lead.
